How I work

As an architect, I have the advantage of being able to minimize the cost of remodeling by understanding the structure of the building and avoiding costly changes to a particular interior.

My approach to creating a home is different from what many interior designers do:

  • I don’t deliver a final product that’s a magazine-perfect, custom-furnished space where you simply move in, or just another designer furniture showroom that Instagram is full of. I believe a good interior is about creating a one-of-a-kind feeling. A good interior tells the story of the person who lives there. Good interiors are unique, dynamic, well-functioning and evolving, just like life itself. As we change and our circumstances shift, good design should not only withstand these changes but adapt to them. A thoughtfully designed space should grow with you.

  • I don’t create trendy, fashionable interiors that quickly become outdated. Therefore, I won’t start with a blank canvas unless your home goods got lost during your past move like it happened to us once. I will work with what you already have, creating harmony and warmth while incorporating new trends to create a space that feels chic, modern, and inviting. This approach will not only keep costs down, but also create something magical. Fabrics, wallpapers, and paint play a huge role in how we feel in a space, and they can be an easy, inexpensive way to achieve the atmosphere you’re looking for.

  • I believe good interior design and architecture should be inspired by and draw from its location. I believe in embracing what’s around us, using local products, local craftsmanship, and local traditions. This not only protects heritage but also creates sustainable design and helps keep costs down. Do we need to use Carrara marble if we have a local quarry?
